Blue Ridge American Indian Festival across from 1512 Appalachian Hwy. Blue Ridge, GA 30513.

This Festival is an outreach to the community to celebrate the teachings of LOVE, HONOR, RESPECT and GRATITUDE. Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday October 17 and 18, 2015 adjacent to the Blue Ridge Flea Market located 2 miles south of Blue Ridge, GA on main Hwy 515 between Blue Ridge and Ellijay GA. Admission is free. Only a parking fee of $5.00. The purpose of the Blue Ridge Native Festival is to feature the history and culture of the Blue Ridge Mountain?s area and honor the Native people whose nation included this whole scenic area. Sharing the culture as it survives today with an Intertribal gathering, open to the public, with opportunity to experience the dance, art, music, singing, performance, crafts and the so important ceremony. This multi-faceted festival is for the families and all people of all races to share in the culture of the southern Appalachians residents who were here prior to colonization. This Festival will include Native American Intertribal Dancers, the Tlaltlacayolotl Azteca Dancers, Thunder Bird drum with singers, music performances by Women of Heart, music by Indian flute performers Falcon Flutes Dana Ross and Jerry Spirit Hawk. There will also be demonstrations, raffles of handmade items and trade blanket. . Edna Countryman.
