This powwow is sponsored by the Pawnee Indian Veterans Organization and will be held at the Memorial Stadium in Pawnee, Oklahoma. This is a community event that has honored veterans since 1946, and celebrates American Indian culture. Enjoy powwow activities Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings and free overnight primitive camping on-site. This family event features Indian dance contests, heritage programs and more. Free rations will be given out to campers Saturday morning.

The Pawnee Indian Veterans Homecoming Powwow is known as the “Largest Free Powwow” in the US.  Rations are provided to all camps on Saturday.  Thursday through Sunday  experience the sights and sounds of the powwow on display and under the lights of Pawnee’s Memorial Football Stadium lights as hundreds of dancers enjoy intertribal and contest dancing. This is a family friendly event. No alcoholic beverages or drugs are allowed.

Dance contests will be held each night, with the Princess contest being held on Friday. Other popular annual events include the Mose Yellowhorse Co-ed Softball Tournament, the Saturday Veteran’s Parade in Downtown Pawnee, and the Hawk Chief 5K Run. Everyone is invited to take part in all these fun activities. Between activities, be sure to visit the native arts and crafts and food vendors.

Free admission and free parking.
