The Museum of the American Indian in Novato, California, is hosting Anthology of Native Poets Reading on Saturday, July 9th, 2016. The event starts at 3:30 p.m. and runs until 5:30 p.m.

Featured poets from the new publication, Red Indian Road West: Native American Poetry from California will include Lucille Lang Day, Nanette Deetz, Dave Holt, Kim Shuck, Sal Martinez and others.

Poets, writers, artists, musicians, and supporters of the creative process gathered together to create this special new anthology of poetry in California.

The new book is edited by Kurt Schweigman and Lucille Lang Day, who is also  publisher. The book’s introduction is by James Luna.

This new anthology, published by Scarlet Tanager Books, continues the legacy of providing a book where indigenous people tell native stories in unique native voices.

Anthology of Native Poets Reading is free to Museum of the American Indian members. A donation is requested from nonmembers. Refreshments will be served.
