Map

Held at the Veterans Memorial Grounds, 3 miles northeast of Cass Lake, Minnesota. Native dancers and drum groups from throughout the Upper Midwest, northern Great Plains and Canada will be at the Leech Lake Veterans Memorial Pow Wow to celebrate. Events start each day with flag-raising at 10:00 a.m. Grand entry of dancers is 7:00 p.m. Friday, 1:00 and 7:00 p.m. Saturday, and 1:00 p.m. Sunday.

Royalty Contests for Senior (ages 13-18) and Junior (ages 7-12) will begin Friday night. Participants in each age category, both Braves and Princesses, must be an LLBO member and be active in school. In addition to three days and nights of dancing, there is also a horseshoe tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

The Leech Lake Veterans Memorial Pow Wow is a family-friendly event. It’s both an education and it’s fun, so spend your Memorial Day Weekend either participating in or learning about Native American culture, while you enjoy the sights and sounds of the pow wow dancing and singing, the arts and crafts vendors, and the food booths (don’t forget the fry bread)!
