The Native American Trade Feast will continue again this year sponsored by the Museum of the American Indian in Novato. The event is free to the public and will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018, 11am-5pm at Miwok Park (in front of the museum) at 2200 Novato Blvd. in Novato, CA 94947 with parking available off site at the Lutheran Church.
This year’s event will again feature Red Voice Drum Group, California Indian dancers, Aztec Dancers Kalpulli Anahuak, Hula Manu O’o Dancers and Hoop Dancer Eddie Madril Native American Fry Bread will be served by Mishewal Wappo. Enjoy Miwok songs and stories, basketry demonstrations, regalia making, shell bead drilling, children activities, book sales and tours of the Museum. Shop at several Native artists booths for a variety of arts and crafts. Becky Olvera Schultz, former exhibitor of the Masks of Americas museum exhibit, will also have a booth with a variety of her works.
Last year’s event was a big success and this year should be even better. The museum celebrates 51 years in 2018.
